RUN 2258 – Disco – 33 High St, Learmonth – Monday 2nd June 2025
Circle began at exactly 1943 with 1 min of silence for SS. 1943 was SS’s last run number in the book, what an amazing achievement. Pauline then sang the Fallen Comrades Song (see posts from Pauline).
We then returned to the usual frivolities. Welcomes back were issued to Rear Entry, Donuts, Pebbles, Doodle nuts, Chris & Dimwit. Before Disco was screwed, we welcomed Dick (Disco’s Dad). What a shemozzle, he downed his drink too soon, then had to have another, still not understanding that despite appearances, we have rules. Sniffy runs were awarded to Cris Cross on 1066 and Chris (no Cross) on 10.
IC then stepped up to screw Disco. The run began by us all missing the start, which progressed to us skipping the on back. The run was then scored against the 6 miracles of Christ. Did we turn water into wine – no. Did we walk on water – we were next to the Lake, so no. Did we still the storm – there was no storm. Did we feed 5000 people – no. Did we cure the lepers – Boner was not here this week. Was there a resurrection – no. This resulted in a score of 2 out of 6.
NBCL then began by charging Spencer Hocking for this 70th Birthday tomorrow. Spence then awkwardly dragged out 2 eskys, lifting the wheels instead of using them. We were then told that we were all to take a beer at the end of the circle, in memory of SS. Hashy Birthday Spencer Hocking.
There were then some dubious jokes, one where a young girl was taken into the Canadian Forrest, she stated that she was scared, to which the reply from Spencer was “don’t worry, I’m scared too, I have to walk out alone”. The next joke was about Half-a-bar who was having trouble sleeping, he was told to count sheep, that way he won’t fall out of bed. Masta bait was the victim of the next joke, where he had been to see Dr Rowdy for arthritis. He was told it wasn’t arthritis, just early onset rigor mortis. Rear entry was then said to be looking for love, by trying carbon dating. Dimwit’s jokes asked us the difference between an anal thermometer and ordering thermometer…. Taste. Followed by, what do you call 3 Greek women in a hot tub….. Gorillas in the mist. Half-a-bar then scored a drink as mummy and daddy were now back together after their brief split ie the liberals and nationals are back together. Chris was then charged for the inappropriateness of his Hadestown shirt, we hope this doesn’t mean down down down. Nummy, as stand in RA, was then charged for failing to look after all of us. Disco, was charged for impersonating Trevor marmalade behind the bar. Normal was charged for dropping the lollies at the drink stop, picking them up, then continuing to offer them around. This backfired as I am supposed to know about the 3 sec rule, and then if 1 Dr drinks all Drs drink. Normal was charged for wanting to see a pic of Pink Bits’ Mum to which she answered, naked or clothed, but he chose the wrong option. Why she has naked pics of her mum was not revealed. There was then something about a Peach, with it being furry, firm and makes terrible yoghurt. We then had the birthday charge for Spartacus next week, but since he wasn’t here, Jus Cum will do. All the Vietnam travelers were then charged. Jus cum scored another charge for identifying as a cat, (her bum bag gave her a tail) and Spencer was charged for self-charging, as he is part of the Vietnam travel group. Squizzy again stepped up to show us his Italian and Japanese language skills and Bad Hair Day was charged as he is representing Ballarat next week in some kind of horn event. The GM was then charged as his horn is bigger ie a Euphonium is bigger than a trumpet. Half-a-bar was then charged as the sign on the door said “no stupid people beyond this point”, this rebounded, because he was not leaving. Dimwit and Dumb n Dumber then joined this charge. Another Dim Wit joke, what’s the biggest drawback in the jungle….. elephant foreskin. We then left the last drink on the bar for SS. A book was also passed around with final messages for SS, that will be given to June (Vibes).
Next Weeks run was then announced as a Committee Run that will begin from Normal’s bandstand on Sturt St with the on after at Eureka pizza.
Spencer then stepped up to talk about SS. He reminded us that his name was actually Sunshine Slit. This came about as he had been on holidays in Queensland and had a cut on his head. So, he was named Sunshine Slit, or SS. He joined the Ballarat Hash on 9 April 1983, where his first run was on the groups 8th run. Tommy corrected this to 7. But whatever it was, SS left an amazing legacy with 1943 runs. What a shame he didn’t make it to 2000 runs. We were reminded that prior to his stroke last Wednesday morning, he had been to Hash on Monday then played 18 holes of golf, and continued his volunteer work at the trout hatchery on Tuesday. All his happy places. With his 1943 runs out of 2256, his attendance percentage of 86.12% is impressive. SS loved hash and hash loved SS. It was then time for a few songs in memory of SS. Rowdy led us in the Oh Danny Boy song and then the Sweet Chariot song. On On SS! We all then took a drink from Spencer’s eskys and sung Give us an A – for SS. The mood was then lightened by Shafted telling us all that Heavy and SS both died in June.

RUN 2257 – Boner – Grapes Hotel, Golden Point – Monday 26th May 2025
RUN 2257 – Boner – Grapes Hotel, Golden Point – Monday 26th May 2025
Dr Rowdy updated us all with news about SS. While SS is still seriously unwell, he is fondly considered to be the father figure of our group, and we send our collective best wishes and love to SS and Vibes, from all of us at Sovereign HHH. This update delayed the run just long enough that the rain stopped and we could head out on trail without precipitation.
When we returned and circle began, Welcomes Backs were then given to Doona, and if one GM drinks, all GMs drink, so Pink Bits also scored a drink. Welcomes back were also awarded to Squizzy with his two dogs, Carpet Burns, Kat Flaps, Num Num and Bar Licker. We then celebrated a few Sniffy runs: Jus Cum on 269, NBCL and Head Hunter both on 272 and IC on 171. Somehow, I was missed, but I was on run 252?
IC then stepped up to screw Doona & Boner. The markings may have washed away, but we were rewarded with 2 drink stops. Which sounds like a good thing, except for running between stops with beer in your belly. It was noticed that we were close, but missed the opportunity to visit the Eureka flag memorial and instead had the second drink stop in the cheap as chips carpark. The run was then scored against the 6 miracles of Christ. Did we turn water into wine – Yeah. Did we walk on water - yes, it had just stopped raining so it was wet underfoot and there were lots of puddles. Did we still the storm – yes, the rain just stopped as we began the run. Did we feed 5000 people – no. Did we cure the lepers – Yes, Doona was here, and was there a resurrection – yes, Deep Heat was still here. This run scored, 5 out of 6.
We began with a joke about Dr Rowdy, Boner, and masturbation, so Masta Bait got a drink too. It was then noted that Bar Licker had not been seen since she was last running along the road, while Half-a-Bar was driving along in the car. This was considered to be domestic abuse, and both had a down down. There was then another joke about Dr Rowdy, where he was asked how to tell if a patient has Alzheimers or Syphilis. The punchline went something like, if you drop her off some distance from home and if she comes home, don’t f#ck her. It was then noted that Tommy had filled the down downs almost to the brim, he claimed it was because Spencer Hocking told him too. But this meant that Disco was not happy, as it negatively impacted the finances and Hash Cash.
In the tradition of Boner/Renob, Anood (aka Doona) scored a drink, as did Spencer for enticing Half-a-Bar to make oversized drinks. Half-a-bar was then charged for parking out the front of Boners place, blocking the driveway. Now Boner has to drive home after the circle. Mrs D was charged for wearing PJs at work and Jus Cum, was charged for already being packed for Vietnam, and she has her pjs in there. Deep Heat was charged for a visit to Dr Rowdy, for a Vic roads assessment. He was given the limitations of only being able to drive 40kms from home. He was then pulled over for speeding and it was noted that he was 80km from home. He was then charged for being 40km over, to which he responded WOW, was I going that fast. Spencer was then charged for leading the walkers, they missed the 1st drink shop and then almost missed the 2nd. Deep Heat was charged for being awarded a Vintage Car club life membership and Squizzy then stepped up to show us his multilingual abilities, in Italian, f#cked if I know and in Japanese, sum cu@t. Jus cum was charged for needing a younger hasher to fix her phone and Carpet Burns was charged for coughing, this was announced as a warning to all. Chris was then charged and challenged to join the run next week, when he always does the walk. Campaspe was charged as the rain has caused the Campaspe to flow and Doona was charged for something about dog breeds being a hybrid or a mutt. Kat flaps was charged as nummy was cat sitting and she did not want to see any flaps. Tommy was then asked to swap shirts with Doona, but it did not happen.
Next weeks run was then announced to be Disco’s run and will be from his parents’ place (Dick and Shags) at 33 High St, Learmonth. Please bring chairs, grog and a torch.

RUN 2256 – Quick Dick – 8 Stawell St, Ballarat East – Monday 19th May 2025
After surviving the run and freezing temperatures, we gathered in Quick Dick and Head Hunter’s shed. Welcomes Backs were awarded to Head Hunter, Rear Entry, Bad Hair Day, Deep Heat, Doodle Nuts, Road Runner & Big Dog. We then celebrated a special Sniffy Run and a T-shirt was awarded to Spencer Hocking for reaching 1400 runs. Doodle Nuts also scored a sniffy run with 33 runs.
IC then stepped in to screw Quick Dick. Many adjectives were used to describe the run, “cold, BIG hill & dark”. Then the run was scored against the 6 miracles of Christ. Did we turn water into wine - no, but there was lots of whining on trail. Did we walk on water - yes, we crossed a creek. Did we still the storm – there was no storm. Did we feed 5000 people – yes, Head Hunter has cooked up a feast. Did we cure the lepers - well… Boner returned after hurting his back, and was there a resurrection - yes Deep Heat returned to Hash. Amazingly, this run scored, 6 out of 6!
NBCL then charged Rear Entry, with a story about his neighbour’s sex tape, where they just don’t know about it yet. Ha Ha! Normal, was also charged, so he could stop blocking the heat from fire. Big dog was charged for something about the tigers win and then Head Hunter was charged for her new shoes. Without hesitation, off came the new shoe and her shoes were christened with a shoey. IC was charged for his RaboDirect shirt, that is supposed to read Robo Debt. Head Hunter was charged for ending the Irish famine with her plentiful catering and Disco was charged with all the St Kilda supporters. Mrs D was charged for being a bitch, according to her student, who did not realize that Pink Bits was likely to pass this on to her. We then discussed some of the items in Quick Dick’s shed, a weeder was demonstrated by Half a Bar, but he didn’t get the no bending aspect and Quick Dick then stepped in to show us how it was really done. Mrs D, and all the teachers, received a charge for a spelling error in the hash group email. Campaspe was then charged for her inelegant fence climbing on trail, (at least I provided entertainment). Then if one Dr drinks, all Dr drink. Campaspe scored another fence climbing charge, and has several bruises to show for it. BHD was charged for talking about Rear Entry’s hair loss, pot calling the kettle black charge. Quick Dick was charged for his plentiful paint can collection, and again for the safety glasses in the shed. Chris was asked to hold the Cross, so now he is Chris with a cross. We then heard about Spartacus and the story of the flaming cross on the top of black hill to mark HHH run 666.
Next weeks run will celebrate the resurrection of Boner, and will be set from The Grapes Hotel on Grant Street, Golden Point.

RUN 2255 – Immaculate Conception – Ross Creek Recreation Reserve – Monday 12th May 2025
Circle began with welcomes backs to Tommy Half-A-Bar, Donuts, Ding Dong and Silic. IC fell for it, asking where is he, so he scored a drink too. Sniffy runs were then awarded to Disco 69, Nummy 838 & Campaspe 250.
Mrs D then stepped up to inform the group about the Book of Dale, evidently one of the Ross Creek locals was very concerned about the road marking in Ross Creek. While Mrs D responded that it was us, and that there was no need to be worried, she was not satisfied, suggesting that HHH should post to their community group page and/or do letter drops about our activities, so as not to cause distress to residents. Donuts scored a down-down, as he is a Ross Creek local.
Since IC has been our stand in screw, and he was the hare this week, Disco stepped up with a lung full of white smoke to screw tonight’s run. Again, the run was scored against the 6 miracles of Christ. Did we turn water to wine -no, walk on water -yes, we crossed a bridge, did we cure the lepers- yes, no boner this week, did we feed 5000 people – yes even though this was difficult because the BBQs weren’t working, was there a resurrection- yes, Rowdy made it back & did we still the storm – yes. Score 5/6
Charges were then awarded to Spencer Hocking, as we were next to the Woady Yaloak primary school. Since this run followed yesterday’s Mother’s Day, there were a several related charges. Rowdy was charged for taking the mother of his children to the Lord of the rings musical. Pauline was charged for giving Lois a Mother’s Day Card that said, to my wife for her birthday. Then Half-A-Bar was charged after he was heard to say, how does everyone know I vote liberal? Mrs D was charged for spreading white powder & Rowdy was charged as a second offence for this too. Nummy, then scored a drink for being too posh to push the pen, when asked to fill in the book, she replied, that’s his job. Pope Leo was mentioned and Precious scored a drink for his Leo Sayer hair. Then Rowdy, got another charge for not being able to hold his beer properly. Pink Bits charged all the Mothers, there were only 6 of us in attendance, and Disco got a drink as he F#@k’ed a mother. IC and Disco were charged on behalf of the tax office and Nutcracker was charged for promoting farmers to block streets in protest to the new tax laws.
Disco got a down-down for taking his role very seriously, carrying the cash tin all the way on the walk. Pauline was charged for sitting on a log for rest mid walk, just as an on back was called. The Collingwood fans then scored a drink, Rowdy, Nutcracker, Cris Cross & me. Dumb was charged for repeatedly trying to start the broken BBQ’s, but they were still not working. He redeemed himself when we were reminded that he was able to fix Nummy’s hot water when it was broken. IC then scored another drink for his repeated NBCL references throughout the evening. Final charges went to, Spencer Hocking, Quick Dick, Shafted, SS and Chris (not cross), because they looked like they needed a drink.
At this point it was announced that Pink Bit’s parents, who were able to save the day, were about 12 minutes away with the cooked sausages. We were extremely grateful as we would have gone home hungry without them offering to cook our dinner.
Next week’s run will be set by Quick Dick, from the shed out the back of his house - 8 Stawell St, Ballarat East

RUN 2254 – Cat – Brown Hill Hotel – Monday 5th May 2025
Circle began with distribution of new hymn books, same songs, new cover.
Welcome’s back went to: Doodle nuts, Chris, Pebbles, Fang & Quick Dick. Sniffy runs were then announced: Jus cum 262, Boner 69, NBCL 269, Disco 68, IC for being 1 run away from a square root and Pink Bits 151. Square root day was acknowledged, Spencer Hocking would be proud.
Ryan Knowles, the brown hill hotel manager, then received his down down. The creepy dude in the bush was a topic of discussion, I heard that 2 Harriette’s were accosted in bush, but then The Bill turned up, so he f#’d off.
Stand in screw IC, then stepped up to screw Cat. When Cat and the walkers arrived at the DS, it was discovered that she had left her keys at the bar. Once this was remedied, the runners began arriving, resulting in a simultaneous cumming. IC then returned to his scoring relating to the 6 miracles of Christ. Did we have water turned to wine – no, did we feed 5000 people – no, was there a resurrection – no (Boner had not returned at this point), did we walk on water – no, cure the lepers – yes, & still the storm -no. Score 1/6
Our sergeant, NBCL began with the location discrepancy, as we were at the Brown Hill Hotel, not the Ballarat golf club and not the Black Hill Hotel. Who knows if anyone went to the wrong location? Nutcracker was charged for her upcoming birthday and Cat and Campaspe were charged for getting lost while setting trail. Nummy then scored a charge, as Dutton will never get to stand in front of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flag as PM. All the Collingwood supported received the next charge, including me, Rowdy, Carpet Burns, Nutcracker & Cris Cross. Quick Dick refused to join with the if 1 Dr drinks, all Dr’s drink, because he is definitely not a Collingwood supporter. Dum was charged for asking Pauline if a double hip replacement meant both of them and Cat was charged for asking if anyone wanted lemonade at the drink stop. Chris, not Cross, was charged for asking Jus Cum if she was on Meth since she loves lollies, but her weight does not correlate. IC was charged for not being on the electoral role, resulting in his attempt at voting not being a quick in and out experience. Normal was charged for not being normal and offering to improve the new HHH cross, adding hinges so that it can be more easily transported. Normal then scored a double charge for too much eye contact during the roll back song. Pebbles was charged for working on polling day, but not providing mushrooms on democracy sausages. Chris, who needs a hash name, was charged for wearing grey trackies, forcing others to keep their eye contact above waist height. Masta Bait was charged for ignoring NBCL at a pub and then trying to say it was because he was in a hurry and IC was charged for attempting to impersonate Bailey Smith. Cat was charged again, for saying that she’s never drunk so much beer and then there was the “Naming”. The Dickheads put their heads together and “Kat Flaps” was christened. The final charges went to SS for teasing us with his shirt and Masta Bait, because he’s also an oldy.
Next Week’s Run will be set by Immaculate Conception from the Ross Creek Recreational Reserve.

RUN 2250 – Hare: Cris Cross – 14 Platypus Dr, Mount Clear
RUN 2250 – Hare: Cris Cross – 14 Platypus Dr, Mount Clear
At exactly 7.40, IC, using his big voice, made the call to order. This was the inaugural run of the year of the COOCH3. We began with welcomes back to Boner, Cat, Karina, Riley & Dimwit. Precious, our new GM, then announced that this year we are bringing back the palindrome. Sniffy runs that were celebrated included Pebbles 656, Teflon 414, and Mountie 1500 (again). Mountie was presented with a 1500 run vest, with a modified date, to reflect the recent issues we had for her multiple celebrations for 1500 runs.
Mountie then screwed Cris Cross with a religious theme (see photos posted on Facebook) and used the analogy of the road to Damascus without the epiphany. Thanks were then given to the past committee, where it was noted that there were big shoes to fill (except sergeant), as the crowd laughed, we welcomed our new sergeant, NBCL. NBCL told us about his recent issues with mistaken identity, he had been asked if he wanted a senior discount when out at a venue and had also been mistaken for big dog.
We then had a few jokes and moved on to charges. Highlights included Mountie’s charge to pus bucket, where she told a story about doing jobs around the house, where to cut a long story short, they had argued, and pus bucket had said that he’d put “Still cold” on her gravestone. To which Mountie replied that she would put “at last stiff” on his gravestone. Mountie also charged herself for being a repeat offender and showed us both of her 800 run shirts, with different dates on them.
There were charges for Cris Cross with a story about cucumbers being good for memory, a charge for Mountie who needed a bible for her screw and now needs a hymn book. D&C was then charged because it’s not a hymn book, it’s a “they” book. Half a bar then received a charge for matching with the size of the new COOCH3 crucifix. Bent was charged, on behalf of BP, who told Louis to use the front door instead of the rear entry, because the dick was wet and Precious then charged Cris Cross for sparce marking of trail, leading to a risk of him becoming the Harold Holt of Hash. Precious received the last charge for having more roles than ScoMo, having taken on not only the role of GM, but also Hash Horn and stand in Trail Master.
We finished with the past GM, Teflon, presenting our new GM, Precious with the GM trophy. This culminated with a shoey (Yuk!).
Next weeks run (Easter Monday) was TBA, but we now have details. Run from 13 Queen Victoria Street. There will be Hash's own stations of the Cross and a Hash themed Easter egg hunt for those in attendance.
