RUN #2054, 27 SEPTEMBER 2021
COVID RUN #43 - ZOOM HASH CIRCLE #46
We were released from lockdown and our RA provided lovely weather for Hashers to emerge and complete the post AFL Grand Final Recovery Run set by Spence from Yuille Station Park, Sebastopol. The trail circled the covid testing site at Marty Busch Reserve, took us up and down the BMX track and finished up along the Yarrowee River. There was excellent attendance over the afternoon and hash names were signed on a blue tarp.
18 Hashers then gathered online for the zoom hash circle Monday night. Without Mountie, there was a group shagging of Spence’s run. Discussion was a bit all over the place but I think the following scores were given (happy to be corrected if needed), Venue 20, Terrain 20, Marking 25 (+5 for the bill following trail backwards), Drink Stop 20, Groovy Factor 20 (except for the covid testing area), giving a total of 105 out of 100. ðŸŽ¶ It’s a Grand Old Flag ðŸŽ¶
Spencer Hocking, as acting Sergeant, began by getting an update from our out of towners. Fang, who was holidaying in Echuca, and Exit from Bendigo both reported that the weather was lovely there too. So that we didn’t continue with further discussion of the weather, we then moved on to the Sniffy runs from Nutcracker (200) Pebbles (600) and the Bill (1700). This combined added up to 2500 runs which is 50 squared…. ðŸŽ¶ It’s a Grand Old Flag ðŸŽ¶
Moving on to charges from before the run, there was something about Pimp or Silic eating a donut (???) and also charges for those who did not know where to find Yuille Station Park, this included D&C and Mountie, but Mountie should have known this location, given the number of Harriers trails that have started there.
Charges from the run went to Head Hunter and Plucka, who are both returning following post-surgery recoveries. On a side note, their total number of runs add up to 345 (thanks Spence). Bent Nose charged Spence for no apples at the drink stop and Mrs D charged Lois Lane, Pauline, Campaspe and Dim Wit for making her feel left out as they all had an accompanying dog on trail.
Nutcracker then charged Mountie for her faux pas comment to Campaspe regarding the recent loss of one of her dogs. Mrs D charged and thanked Bent Nose for wearing shorts instead of lycra, like Chris Cross, and Fang charged SS by wondering if he saw a moth fly out of his Melbourne scarf. This was followed by discussion of how many premierships SS and Dumb had attended. SS attended the 1948 game at age 7 and all other premierships up to 1964. Dumb listed to the 1954 game on the radio (there was no TV then) but has seen all the other games. ðŸŽ¶ It’s a Grand Old Flag ðŸŽ¶ Bent then pointed out that Pauline (another Melbourne supporter) had been forgotten from this discussion and Bent and Pauline were then charged. ðŸŽ¶ No No No ðŸŽ¶
Head Hunter’s upcoming birthday was mentioned and as we were running out of time we moved on to next weeks run. Since it is daylight savings, Rowdy will set the run from the normal spot at 5-ways. Details TBA by Friday, depending upon weather and covid restrictions. This may be a Monday night run, so this may be the last zoom hash circle. Final comments were, if you’re not vaccinated, don’t turn up, HHH will have compulsory vaccination to protect us all!
Next Week’s Run – Monday 4 October 2021, Daylight Savings Run, Hare: Rowdy – Location: 5-ways off White Swan Rd, Glen Park (intersection of White Swan Rd, Glen Park Rd and Codes Forrest Rd.

RUN #2053, 20 SEPTEMBER 2021
COVID RUN #42 - ZOOM HASH CIRCLE #45 – LOCKDOWN #8
So…Ballarat was back in lockdown for a week, but with the 10km exercise limit, we were not as restricted, so many of us were able to reach the trail set by SS from the Millers Arms Hotel. The trail traversed the hills of Ballarat North and included the cemetery, where there was an exhibition from the Ballarat International Foto Biennale. Memorials of past hashers and family members were also visited by many hashers and we again gathered on Monday night for the zoom hash circle.
19 Hashers gathered for the zoom hash circle Monday night. We began with Mountie shagging SS’s run. The following scores were given, Venue 15, Terrain 20 (lots of hills), Marking 17, Drink Stop 0, Groovy Factor 12, giving a total of 64 out of 100. ðŸŽ¶Soldier Song ðŸŽ¶
Spencer Hocking, as acting Sergeant, began by imparting his wisdom to Teflon saying that now that he is retired, he should never listen to his wife. Spence wishes that he hadn’t listened, so that he would still be in Queensland. Gilf was then harassed for her self-inflicted haircut, so she spent most of the session just out of camera. We then moved on to Hashy Birthdays and birthday wishes were sent to Gilf and Head Hunter (she wasn’t there, so Mrs D will do). ðŸŽ¶ Hashy Birthday ðŸŽ¶
Sniffy runs were then mentioned and included Mrs D 686, SS 1789, Penny Farthing 707 and Quick Dick 171 (this might have been a few weeks ago). ðŸŽ¶ Get a Life ðŸŽ¶ All the people who have been or are in quarantine awaiting COVID testing, were then charged (Mountie, D&C, Louis, Pauline and BP. ðŸŽ¶ 20 Toes ðŸŽ¶
NBCL then charged Num Num for something about the CFMEU and Dumb charged Mountie for knowing too many people in the Ballarat Cemetery. ðŸŽ¶ She Ought to Be ðŸŽ¶ Teflon then charged Spencer for his dyslexia and mixing up 717 with 171. ðŸŽ¶ Your Stupid ðŸŽ¶ Mrs D charged SS for the large-scale photos of his arsehole and Vibes’ tits and Mountie charged Num Num for not submitting her list to their book club. ðŸŽ¶ She’s the meanest ðŸŽ¶
There was then discussion about Monday having exactly 12 hours of daylight to which Dim Wit gave us his joke about the similarity between Cher and Ballarat, neither is F#@King Sunny! Teflon then charged D&C for looking like she was riding a bike. We then moved on to discuss upcoming Sniffy runs from Nutcracker (200) Pebbles (600) and the Bill (1700).
Pauline announced that the upcoming Hangi has been postponed due to ongoing covid restrictions and although some suggested that if it was a marriage, then that would allow more people to attend, there were no takers from any of the unmarried couples.
We finished up with a few offers for next week’s run, however, the trail master has now posted details for next weeks run. Trail will be set by Spencer Hocking from Yuille Station Park and will be set by 11am Sunday with a DS between 2.30-4.30 Sunday. While we are out of lockdown, Num Num has requested that you make sure you abide by all current COVID restrictions ... mask up, groups of up to 10, social distancing ... and get vaccinated.
Next Week’s Run – Monday 27 September 2021, Post Lockdown 8 & Grand Final Recovery Run, Hare: Spencer Hocking – Location: Yuille Station Park, off Vickers St, Sebastopol
We finished off with some footy chat and the song ðŸŽ¶ It’s a Grand Old Flag ðŸŽ¶ .

RUN #2052, 13 SEPTEMBER 2021
COVID RUN #41 - ZOOM HASH CIRCLE #44
Well…while we were briefly out of lockdown, the restrictions still did not allow for us to gather on Monday night, so Pebbles set a weekend trail from the Wendouree Train Station, and we again gathered on Monday night for the zoom hash circle.
23 Hashers gathered for the zoom hash circle Monday night. We started arse about with chat about next week’s run. Trail will be set by SS from the Millers Arms Hotel (Cnr Doveton St Nth and Howard St, Soldiers Hill). Trail will be set by lunchtime on Friday and the new lockdown 10km exercise limit (starting on Saturday) should allow for more Hashers to be able to reach this trail over the weekend.
Next Week’s Run – Monday 20 September 2021, Hare: SS – Location: Millers Arms Hotel, Soldiers Hill (depending upon covid restrictions)
Spencer then informed us that Exit had broken her wrist after tripping over her cat and Rowdy charged Teflon for looking like a thespian.
Mountie then went on to tell a couple of Dad jokes and Shag the run. The following scores were given, Venue 5, Terrain 5 (no hills), Marking 0 (she completed trail on Monday and all arrows had been washed away), Drink Stop 0, Groovy Factor 10, giving a total of 20 out of 100. ðŸŽ¶ Shitty Trail ðŸŽ¶ Mountie also requested to be able to remove 10 points from last weeks screw as she missed a drink at one drink stop during one of her runs.
Spencer Hocking was announced to be acting Sergeant, again and Lois Lane then charged Pebbles for setting trail with a lack of imagination. Fascinator then charged Pauline & BP for being oblivious on trail. ðŸŽ¶ They Ought to be ðŸŽ¶
Exit was charged for falling over her cat after a few drinks after her last Hash zoom, but she was only drinking water tonight. ðŸŽ¶ Do your tits hand low ðŸŽ¶ Bent Nose then charged Dumb for bad hearing with a joke about mistaking symptoms for Simpson’s and Exit was charged again with a story about Digit Digester who broke both her arms during Ballarat Nash Hash. ðŸŽ¶ She’s a Harriette ðŸŽ¶
There was then a general enquiry about the wellbeing of Head Hunter and her recovery from surgery. Dumb reported back that he had seen her and she appeared to be doing well.
Donuts then charged everyone for seemingly keeping in time during our rendition of Shitty Trail but then being absolutely terrible for the following songs.
BF#2 then charged Rowdy for being critical of her Paralympic joke several weeks ago. Not only can she not run a marathon in under 2 hrs 20 min but she is also unable to win a golden slam. Pebbles then charged Louis Pauline BP and Mrs D for being early on trail.
SS then shared his words of wisdom about the upcoming AFL grand final where she shared his thoughts that either side could win but he hopes Melbourne wins. Dumb also thinks that Melbourne will win. This was followed by several impersonations of Half-a Bar predicting the final result with lots of f#@k, f#@k, f#@k about who would f#@king win. ðŸŽ¶ It’s a Grand Old Flag ðŸŽ¶
Pebbles shared that he used to play for a team with the same colours as Melbourne and they won 4 premiership flags. Pauline then added something about the rugby and Dumb complained about the ticketing arrangements for members at the AFL grand final. Donuts then shared that he had a good footy joke but we didn’t get to hear it before the zoom timed out.

RUN #2051, 6 SEPTEMBER 2021
COVID RUN #40 - ZOOM HASH CIRCLE #43 – SELF-SET TRAIL #5
Well, it was yet another week of covid lockdown, where we are still limited by our covid safe settings with a weekend trail and Monday night zoom hash circle. Trail was set from the Western Oval by Pauline and Lois Lane, for those that lived nearby and took us on an 8km journey of past and present hashers. Others completed their own trail within their 5km exercise limit. There was also comments about the lovely views from BF#2’s new neighbourhood.
22 Hashers gathered for the zoom hash circle Monday night. There was some general chit chat while we waited for the screw to log in and we almost started the down downs, but stopped once we were told Mountie arrival was imminent.
Mountie then went on to Shag the run and gave the following scores, Venue 20, Terrain 1 (no hills), Marking 40 (she completed trail 3 times), Drink Stop 20, Groovy Factor 20, giving a total of 101 out of 100. ðŸŽ¶ Shitty Trail ðŸŽ¶
Fang then appeared with a grandchild so Dim Wit was called upon for a child friendly joke. “How do you tell the gender of an ant? Put it in water, the one that floats is buoyant”.🤣🤣
Spencer Hocking was welcomed back to Ballarat as our returned from Queensland correspondent and is again the acting Sergeant.
Lois Lane was then inundated with suggestions for further Hash Houses that were missing from her trail. She informed us that she has further versions of this type of trail but could not include everyone as the trail was longer than usual as it was.
SS then charged Bent Nose and BP as the garden reno A team. ðŸŽ¶ Get a Life ðŸŽ¶ Lois Lane also charged Bent Nose and BP for offering their concreters drinks from the Hash esky. Rowdy then complained that he didn’t get a drink, he was offered, but why should that get in the way of a good story. Mrs D then told us that Bent Nose and BP had stayed with Pauline and Lois during previous renovations so it should be OK to offer their drinks to others. Pauline then charged Fascinator for walking trail in the opposite direction and blaming his dogs.
Spencer Hocking then went on to list some Sniffy runs: Fascinator 193, BP 1246, Mountie 1318, Bent Nose 1423. ðŸŽ¶ Get a Life ðŸŽ¶
BF#2 was charged for her Paralympic joke from last week, it was pointed out that the marathon was won in an impressive time of 2hrs 21min and the challenge was given, can you beat that! Lois Lane then charged Campaspe for getting lost on trail. ðŸŽ¶ They Ought to Be ðŸŽ¶
NBCL was charged for coaching his woman’s footy team to be crowned minor premiers for 2021. ðŸŽ¶ We are the Champions ðŸŽ¶ D&C was charged for dressing as a Muslim to get her covid jab at the multicultural centre and Mountie was charged for not looking as good as D&C in a scarf. ðŸŽ¶ You’re Ugly ðŸŽ¶ There were then further comments about Hijab’s and He Jabs, where we were told that Donuts was offering free jabs.
Pauline then talked about the upcoming Hangi at Donuts place on November 5, 6 & 7 – contingent upon covid regulations. There has since been an email and Facebook post with further information.
Next Week’s Run – Monday 13 September 2021, Hare: Pebbles – Location: Royal Mail Hotel, Sebastopol (depending upon covid restrictions).
We were then told that Andy Pobjoy was live on Facebook with music for Mellow Mondays. There was then something about D&C resembling someone off the Block and Rowdy finished up the zoom with a song for Dumb and SS. ðŸŽ¶ It’s a Grand Old Flag ðŸŽ¶
Jacki Fowler and 5 others
