CHRISTMAS RUN – LOCATION: GOLDEN CITY HOTEL
By my head count, about 25 Hashers gathered at the Golden City Hotel for the Christmas run. We welcomed Megan for her inaugural run and began our carolling with 
Heavy Hymn #1. We departed the pub, gathered a few extra hashers along trail and took off about town with our song books containing our wonderfully creative carols in hand (thanks Rowdy).

We then moved to outside the Piano Bar where we sang Oh Holy Night featuring Fascinator and Donuts. We then had a couple of group photos taken out the front of Santa’s Workshop and another inside the Giant Bauble.

Here, we were replenished with a drink stop, carols and a few down downs. Charges from before the run went to Juz Cum and Wee Problem, who were charged for being late to PMT hash and missing the bus. Mountie was charged for not setting a run at PMT hash and Fop, Her Vaj and Plucka received a COVID charge. Mrs Murphy . Carols at this location included Good King Wenceslas featuring Half-a-bar and I saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus featuring Juz Cum, Spartacus, and Pus Bucket. Further charges went to SOS and Little Evil, for turning up for free beer. Fascinator then charged Spence for wanting more kids in his neighbourhood. No No No . FOP charged Dr Death for something about the digital thermometer that they received when they had COVID that did not come with instructions about where it needed to be shoved. We then had another carol, We Three Kings featuring Snag, Hass and Dr Death. This was followed by if one Dr Drinks, all Dr’s drink, so drinks also went to Fop, Campaspe, Rowdy and QD. We then had welcomes back to Fang, Boot and BF#? And a charge for the Virgin runner, Megan. Our next carol was the First Noel featuring Precious and BF#? Which was followed by the renaming of BF#? to Horatio Hornblower. Give us an A . SS charged Boot as next years GM, there was also mention of SOS for GM too. This was followed by charges for the oldest hasher, youngest hasher and a charge for Fang who has been coming to hash for the longest but doesn’t have the greatest number of runs. Soldier Song . Mountie then charged the hot young guy, and SOS was demoted as he is no longer the hottest youngest guy. Mountie and the hot young guy had a drink off which was followed by another drink off with SOS. I believe Mountie won both! Next carol was White Christmas , featuring Campaspe. QD was in tears, so he received a down down and Big Dog received a down down for dressing up in a Christmas themed Big Dog shirt. Down Down Down

This was followed by Silver Bells featuring SS and Silent Night featuring Snag and Mountie.

Carols at this location included, Oh Come all Ye Faithful and Away in a Manger ,featuring QD and Head Hunter.

Then, if one GM drinks, all GM’s drink and all GM’s who did back to back drink (SOS). Mrs Murphy If we have one GM carol, we then must follow with the other GM carol, Deck the Halls, featuring Nutcracker and NBCL. La la la la la, la la la la. If one Nut drinks, all nuts drink and again if one GM drinks, all GM’s drink. Next carol was Hark the Herald Angels Sing #2, featuring Half-a-bar. Since he wasn’t here, Mountie was called upon to take a drink as she was considered to be the closest in height to Half-a-bar. The next carol at this location was Frosty the Snowman, featuring Shafted. Since he wasn’t here, the person called upon to take a drink on his behalf was Little Evil. Also joining in for this down down was SOS and Horatio Hornblower. We then sang the carol I Saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus again, for Wee Problem which was followed by Pauline singing I want to wish you a MΔori Christmas. Juz Cum then charged Head Hunter for an Irish Christmas and Fascinator attempted a Haka.

The final carols at this location were accompanied by the guitarist and included Jingle Bell Rock, featuring Pebbles and Happy Christmas (War is Over), featuring Chris Cross.

Next weeks run will celebrate Dr Death’s 60th Birthday from his place at 117 Pryors Road, Scotsburn. Celebrations begin from 3pm. Bring salad, alcohol and snacks. Hash run, circle and down downs are planned for the usual time of 6.30. Also see post/email from Num Num for further information.
